I forgot all about these!
Oh my! I haven't seen these in YEARS. I have 28 issues, from March 1965 to June 1967. Their price was "one shilling & sixpence".
Should these survive me, I hereby bequeath these collectibles to my brother, Tom Robertson, who plastic-wrapped our Beatles albums and swears by their value.

You Can't Take it All With You
They're pretty and I'm sure the power will go out in Washington, but ... packing those fragile vases just seems too risky. I'm more likely to sell or give them away while they're still in one piece.
In the city I've been a front porch and indoor gardener. Where I'm going, I expect to garden in the big out doors. Besides these pots, I've got 3 redwood planter boxes and half a dozen each of potted plants and wicker baskets.
So much stuff!

What I'll Miss in San Francisco
Who says I can't digress from packing from time to time? Walking along Ocean Beach is one of my favorite things to do. It offers natural beauty and unsurpassed people-watching.
People abound of every age and condition. There are children, families, friends, tourists, lovers, old folks, dog walkers and very, very happy dogs!
I love the crash of waves, the constant motion, the dancing light and swooping birds.
It's impossible to be depressed at the beach. Surfers, bikers, rollerbladers and college students come to play with their perfect bodies, youth and energy.
How ironic that the Golden Gate Bridge is just a few miles away -- where so many jump to their death.
There is also a constant parade of ships coming and going. I love to watch them shrink as they leave and grow larger as they approach.

Plants Don't Travel
My friend Rita offered to take my largest plant - some 30" in diameter.
Plants might travel across town -- but not some 700 miles across the state line in a moving van. The heat and lack of air alone would kill them -- not to mention being crushed.
My "survival" carry-on items in my car will include my bird -- but not my plants! I've got another half dozen to give away.

Order is Restored
It will be three months before I move. I still want to have a sense of 'home' as long as I can.
My home is my gallery and I am the curator. I need to create as much beauty around me as I can -- even when the "cupboards" are bare.
It turns out I had four bookcases and three nooks for oversize "coffee table" books. According to the principles of Feng Shui it's better chi to have S P A C E in one's home -- in which case, my home chi just got a terrific boost!
That said, I want to get Naomi Klein's The Shock Doctrine. It's not a book one can read during a short library loan. I've been a fan of hers for the past five years. But I digress.
I have "put it in a box" fever. I feel anxious if I'm not packing and view every object as something to be packed -- "What size box should I use? What would go with it? Goodwill pile!"
